Untapped Potential:

Rethinking Ireland's Approach
to Clinical Trials

A panel discussion

A strong clinical trial infrastructure gives patients access to sometimes life-saving treatments. However, according to the IPHA Clinical Trials Activity Comparison Report 2024, Ireland continues to attract fewer clinical trials than some European countries with similar populations and economic performances. Healthcare providers in Irish hospitals and academic institutions have shown that they have the ability to drive world-class research, but reform of the process in Ireland is needed to enable a predictable, transparent and efficient clinical research system in order to attract more clinical trials for patients in Ireland.

Join our panel of experts who will discuss the findings of the IPHA Clinical Trials Activity Comparison Report 2024, details of the recently announced Contract Research Organisation (CRO) mCTA and the further reforms required to ensure patients in Ireland get access to breakthrough life-enhancing medicines through clinical trials.
